Welcome to Superco: On Shopify, a weekly bulletin to keep you up to date with Shopify Plus news and updates.
This week: changes to privacy permissions, returns and exchanges, as well as Flow’s Run Code action. Take a look below for more detail.
If you have a specific question related to Shopify, contact me at tm@superco.io — we’re always happy to chat.
When setting up a custom pixel on the customer events page, you can now control privacy permissions and data sale settings directly. This update ensures that your custom pixels activate only with the right permissions.
You can also view and manage privacy permissions and data sale settings for app pixels from the listing on the customer events page.
You can now use console.log in Flow’s Run Code action. For example, when you use console.log(“foo”, order), it will print the text ‘foo’ and the order resource to the workflow run log during execution. This can make it easier to debug your JavaScript code.
View the Run Code documentation to learn more about console.log, including limitations.
Merchants can now add exchange products directly when approving return requests, especially when buyers request an exchange. Additionally, you can include return shipping and restocking fees during this process. These fees will automatically adjust the return balance.
This update streamlines the return and exchange process, making it easier to manage fees and improve the experience for both your customers and your business.
