The challenge
Retail strategist Wizz Selvey and brand growth consultant Olly Johnson founded Valerie in December 2023. Its liquid shots, Daily Essential for the morning and Evening Essential for the night, combine vitamins, minerals and botanicals in a liposomal format, for women whose energy, mood and sleep have started to change.
As a new direct-to-consumer brand, Valerie needed a store that explained an unfamiliar product quickly, earned trust in a crowded supplements market, and turned first orders into monthly subscriptions from launch day.
Solution
A store that explains the product and sells the subscription.
We designed and built Valerie’s Shopify store around the questions a new customer asks: what is in it, how it works, and whether it will work for them. Ingredients, the liposomal technology, trial results and expert voices sit close to the product, with reviews and a 90-day money-back guarantee to lower the risk of a first order.
Subscriptions run through Skio, so customers can buy the AM and PM formula as a monthly plan and manage it themselves. Bundles, a referral program and a blog support repeat orders and word of mouth.

Impact
The result
Valerie launched to its waitlist in August 2024 and opened to all customers that September. It has since raised pre-seed funding from angel investors, and its reviews rate it 4.7 out of 5.
The brand has grown its audience beyond perimenopause to women over 35, a change covered by NutraIngredients.
