Shopify migration agency

We move brands to Shopify and Shopify Plus from Magento, WooCommerce, Odoo, Visualsoft, custom builds and headless set-ups, without losing rankings or trading.

Migration

Most of the risk in a move sits in three places: search rankings, customer and order data, and integrations.

A like-for-like move is the quickest. LSA International went from Magento to Shopify in six weeks, across Christmas trading, and New & Lingwood moved to Shopify Plus in about two months. Redesign during the move only if the current experience is costing you sales.

Every migration starts with a customer experience strategy workshop and a technical audit, so we know what your customers need and what each system does before anything moves.

Platforms we migrate from

Each platform has its own risks. These are the ones we plan for.

Magento and Adobe Commerce: extensions, B2B pricing, ERP linksWooCommerce: plugins doing core jobs, subscriptions, trade accountsOdoo: products, customers and orders out of the ERPVisualsoft: search, navigation and content structureCustom builds: data exports and undocumented featuresHeadless: URL patterns and content in a separate CMS

How we run a migration

01 Audit and discovery

A customer experience workshop and a review of your systems, such as ERP, PIM and payments. We write a data plan and an SEO plan.

02 Design

We agree what stays, what changes and what goes.

03 Data and SEO migration

We move products, customers and order history by CSV or with integration partners such as High Cohesion, and map every URL.

04 Systems integration

We reconnect your ERP, warehouse and order systems and test each one. Recent work includes Kerridge for Tileflair and Sage for Suki Tea.

05 Training

Two sessions with your team: the first on running the store and theme, the second on the questions that come up once you have used it.

06 Testing, launch and hypercare

We test on real orders, switch over with all redirects live, and watch errors, speed and rankings in the weeks after launch.

What moves, and what does not

Moves

Products and variants, collections, customers, order history, blog posts, pages and redirects.

Rebuilt

Apps and extensions, as Shopify apps, Shopify features or custom code, and the theme.

Does not move

Customer passwords. Customers log in with a one-time email code or set a new password, and we plan how to tell them.

Search rankings

How we protect your rankings.

We crawl the old site and map every URL to its new address with a 301 redirect, and carry over page titles, meta descriptions, headings and structured data.

We keep the content on pages that already rank rather than rewriting it during the move, test redirects before launch and again on launch day, and watch Search Console for the weeks after. Cannaray and New & Lingwood kept their rankings through their moves.

‘Since we launched the new platform, the team are able to get through a lot more work in a given week. It’s so much easier to manage our product catalogue.’

Integrations

Moving your ERP, warehouse and order systems.

Every system has to work with Shopify after the move. Data can pass between them by CSV, no-code tools, native apps, a bespoke integration, or an integration platform such as High Cohesion for larger operations.

We list every integration, agree a system diagram with each owner, build or reconnect each one, then load-test and run end-to-end tests on real orders before launch. After launch, we check that GA4 records traffic and purchases correctly.

Red flags

Signs a migration plan is not ready.

No written SEO and redirect plan before the build starts. No plan for how customers, order history and integrations will move.No time set aside for testing before launch.A launch date that clashes with your peak trading, and nobody has raised it.A full redesign proposed without asking whether you need one.

FAQs

It depends on your catalogue, your integrations and how much you change at the same time. LSA International took six weeks and New & Lingwood about two months. A migration with a redesign and several integrations takes longer.

Not if the move is planned properly. We map every old URL with 301 redirects, keep titles, descriptions and structured data, and check rankings after launch.

Yes. We moved Funkin Cocktails’ D2C and B2B sites from Magento to Shopify Plus. Shopify Plus includes company accounts, price lists and payment terms.

We audit every integration at the start and rebuild or reconnect each one. We have connected Shopify to Kerridge, Sage and other ERP, warehouse and subscription systems.

It depends on scope. We agree a fixed scope and price after discovery. To compare platform running costs, use our total cost of ownership calculator.

No. We build the new store alongside the old one and switch over on launch day.

Yes. Before launch we run two sessions: one on running the store, the theme, shipping, tax and markets, and a follow-up on the questions your team has after using it.
