WooCommerce to Shopify migration services

We move brands from WooCommerce to Shopify and Shopify Plus, with subscriptions, trade pricing, content and rankings carried over.

WooCommerce

Brands leave WooCommerce when plugins, hosting and updates take more time than selling.

Plugins doing core jobs, such as subscriptions, trade pricing and search, need a plan before anything moves. Your WordPress content and blog can move to Shopify, so you run one platform.

We have moved Naturaw and David M Robinson from WooCommerce, and run migrations from Magento, Odoo, Squarespace and headless set-ups.

How it works

A WooCommerce migration, step by step.

1. Discovery. We list every plugin and what it does, map your products, customers, orders and content, and agree what moves, what is rebuilt and what goes.

2. Design and build. A Shopify theme is built alongside the live WooCommerce store, like for like or redesigned, with Shopify features or apps in place of each plugin.

3. Data. Products, variants, customers, order history and blog posts move with Shopify’s Store Migration app, Matrixify or custom scripts, depending on volume and how custom the data is.

4. Subscriptions and trade customers. Subscriptions move to an app such as Recharge with their schedules kept, and trade customers move to Shopify B2B or a wholesale app.

5. Redirects and SEO. Every WordPress URL is mapped to its Shopify address and tested before launch.

6. Launch and after. A final data sync, the switch, then rankings and errors tracked in Search Console.

Plugins

What happens to common WooCommerce plugins.

WooCommerce Subscriptions: Recharge, Shopify Subscriptions or another subscription app, with customers’ schedules moved across.

B2B and wholesale plugins: Shopify’s built-in B2B, with fuller catalogues and payment terms on Shopify Plus.

Product add-ons and bundles: Shopify bundles, metafields or a bundle app; Naturaw’s bundle builder was built for its store.

Yoast and other SEO plugins: Shopify’s own title and description fields, structured data in the theme and redirects in the admin.

Search and filtering: Shopify Search & Discovery, or a search app for large catalogues.

Page builders: Shopify’s theme editor, sections and metaobjects.

Reviews, loyalty and email: Shopify apps such as Judge.me, LoyaltyLion and Klaviyo.

Search rankings

How WordPress URLs change, and how we protect rankings.

WooCommerce puts products under /product/ and categories under /product-category/; Shopify uses /products/ and /collections/, and blog posts move to /blogs/. Every old URL gets a 301 redirect to its new address.

We carry over page titles, meta descriptions and structured data, keep the copy on pages that already rank, test redirects before launch and track rankings afterwards.

Cost

What decides the cost of a WooCommerce migration.

The number of products and variants, how many plugins need a Shopify replacement or custom build, subscriptions and trade pricing, integrations such as ERP and warehouse systems, and whether you redesign or move like for like.

Against that, Shopify removes hosting, security patching and plugin updates. Our total cost of ownership calculator compares the two.

FAQs

You can move it into Shopify’s blog so you run one platform, or keep WordPress for content. We recommend one platform for most brands.

We move them to a Shopify subscription app such as Recharge, keeping delivery schedules. See Recharge subscriptions.

Not if the move is planned. WordPress URL patterns differ from Shopify’s, so we map every URL with 301 redirects and carry over titles, descriptions and structured data.

It depends on plugins, integrations and design. We agree a timeline after discovery.

Which of our plugins will become Shopify apps, custom code or nothing?

How will you move our subscribers?

How will you map WordPress URLs and keep our blog’s rankings?

Will our trade customers keep their pricing?

It depends on the catalogue, the plugins to replace, subscriptions, trade pricing and integrations, and whether you redesign. A like-for-like move costs least. We price each migration after a short discovery.

Shopify’s Store Migration app imports products, customers and orders from WooCommerce, which suits smaller stores. Larger catalogues, custom fields, subscriptions and trade pricing usually need Matrixify or custom scripts as well.
