Superco and Brightpearl
Brightpearl is a retail operating system owned by Sage. It runs orders, inventory, fulfilment and accounting for retailers and wholesalers, and connects directly to Shopify. Superco is a Sage partner, and Brightpearl integration sits within our ERP integration work.
The short answer
- Brightpearl was founded in 2007 and is based in Bristol and Austin. Sage bought it in January 2022 and it now trades as Brightpearl by Sage.
- Brightpearl describes itself as a founding member of Shopify's global ERP programme.
- It covers order and inventory management, purchasing, fulfilment, warehousing and accounting.
- Inventory Planner, Brightpearl's forecasting tool, plans stock and purchase orders.
What Brightpearl does
Brightpearl brings the back office of a retail business into one system: sales orders from every channel, stock across warehouses, purchasing, fulfilment and the accounts behind them. On 19 October 2026 the Brightpearl by Sage app had a rating of 4.6 from 58 reviews on the Shopify App Store.
Where Superco fits
A Brightpearl project is mostly about data: which system owns products, prices and stock, how orders and refunds flow back, and how B2B and wholesale customers are handled. Superco plans and builds the Shopify side and the integration, using the same approach as our other ERP work, such as the Kerridge integration we built for Tileflair with High Cohesion.
Is Brightpearl an ERP?
Brightpearl calls itself a retail operating system. In practice it does much of what a mid-market ERP does for a retailer: orders, inventory, purchasing, fulfilment and accounting.
Does Brightpearl work with Shopify Plus and B2B?
Yes. It connects to Shopify and Shopify Plus through its Shopify app, and handles wholesale orders as well as direct-to-consumer.
